School meals and packed lunches

We offer healthy, freshly-cooked lunches every day. Meals are provided by Dolce, whose focus is tasty, nutritious food that helps children stay energized and ready to learn.  For further information, please visit https://www.dolce.co.uk/.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 are eligible for a daily free school meal. 

In Years 3 to 6, the cost of a school meal is £2.90.

If your child has a special dietary requirement, has a food allergy, or does not eat a particular food for religious or ethical reasons, please contact the School Office immediately.  It is important that you let the School Office know of any allergies, even if your child has a packed lunch every day, as your child's class may have a tasting session as part of the curriculum. You will be asked to put any dietary requirements in writing to the school.

You will need to ensure that your child's record on SchoolGrid is up-to-date with their allergy information as this is what will control what menu options your child will be able to order.

To guard against food allergies, we ask that children do not share food in school. 

All meals must be ordered on SchoolGrid.  We ask parents to order two weeks in advance to cut down on food waste and assist our catering team with ordering. 

How to order a meal online:

• Login to your SchoolGrid account 
• Ensure that allergen information is up to date
• Go to the 'Order Meals' section which can be found at the top of the screen 
• Click on the week you wish to order a meal and then select your child's meal choices for each day
• Once all choices are made, go to your basket and check out (if your child is in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, or has Free School Meals, this step still needs to be completed, but you will not be charged)

If you forget to pre-order your child’s meal, please order on SchoolGrid before 8:55am the same day. Alternatively, call the School Office before 9:15am and staff will add the meal manually. The cost will be charged to your account—please log in to SchoolGrid to pay. Meals are cooked to order, so please ensure you order by these deadlines.

Packed Lunch — Allergy Aware School

If your child does not want a school meal, you can provide them with a packed lunch.  

We are an allergy aware school with several children who have serious allergies that can cause life‑threatening reactions. A person with an allergy can react from contact or airborne particles, not just by eating an allergen.

For everyone’s safety, please do not include any products containing nuts in packed lunches or eat them anywhere on the school site (for example: peanut butter, some chocolate spreads, certain cereal bars, cakes and biscuits). This list is not exhaustive — check packaging carefully before including items.

Please also avoid sweets and fizzy drinks/squash in packed lunches.
