Class Information – Year 1

Welcome to the Owls Class Webpage!  We hope you are all well and have enjoyed some of the ideas we have provided you with so far. Hopefully, a flexible routine has started to develop in your homes and you are finding some time each day to work on school tasks.

As those initial ideas might have been exhausted now, we have decided to change the way we update work for Year 1. From now on all the learning resources will be updated here for the start of the week. When you return to this website after the holiday,  please click on the Week 1 tab below to find a range of resources, covering most areas of the curriculum. Please don’t feel that all the work has to be done. We have just put lots on there so you can select what you want to use. We hope that getting weekly resources, organised by subject,  will help you to direct the children in their learning at home a bit more. During a regular week at school the timetable would look a bit like this:

Most of you have sent an email to the year1@pcps.uk email. It’s so lovely to see what you are all getting up to. It really does help to make us feel connected to the class still. We would really like children to continue to email us work, messages and photos (obviously with your help). We will try to email back everyone as soon as we can.

We will be pulling back a little from PurpleMash whilst we get used to the new resources here. Don’t stop using it, especially if your child enjoys it, but we won’t set any more 2dos at present.

We are still using Marvellous Me as a platform to send home brief suggestions and  top up activities as they materialise.

And finally, there are some tips and websites to help you stay active while you’re at home. Remember that physical activity is still really important, to help you keep fit and healthy!
