Our aim: ‘To be a school of excellence and happiness at the heart of the local community’.
We’re in an exciting new phase at Powell Corderoy, with ambitious targets and high expectations for children and teachers alike. Meeting national expectations is just the beginning – we aim to exceed them. And the changes we’re making are already proving their worth. Everyone wants the best possible results for our children. That’s why we strive to put outstanding teaching and an inspiring curriculum at the heart of everything we do. Our new staff structure and leadership team, including some exceptional new recruits, is helping us achieve this by bringing a wealth of best practice into the school. But an excellent education is about more than academic achievement. It’s about being happy while you learn, and developing the confidence and life skills you need to fulfil your potential. School should be a place of wonder, enjoyment, opportunity and inspiration. A place where children learn to navigate the complexities of growing up and making friends, as well as wider issues like social media. Equally importantly, we aim to give our children a strong sense of their place in, and responsibility for, the wider community. We want them to have pride in themselves, in their school, and in everything they can achieve – for themselves and for others.
